BARNEVELDER
Origin: Developed in the Dutch town of Barneveld specifically to create a breed that laid brown eggs, these birds arrived in the UK in the 1920s.
Characteristics: Alert and active, they thrive well in free range environments and make excellent mothers.

Hatching eggs can also be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed in purpose made polystyrene boxes at the postage cost of £6 per half dozen.
