Japanese are a true bantam, there is no large fowl version. Japanese bantams are spritely, alert little birds that live very happily in small spaces. The Japanese bantam was believed to have been developed in Japan in the seventh century and was introduced into Europe in 1860.

Hatching eggs can also be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed in purpose made polystyrene boxes at the postage cost of £6 per half dozen.
