LEGHORN
Origin: Italy was the original home of the Leghorn, but the first specimens of the White variety reached this country in 1870 and the brown Leghorn a few years later. The white leghorn has figured prominently in the establishment of high egg-producing hybrids.
Characteristics: Prone to flightiness but with good handling can be tamed. These birds are prolific layers and as such are very popular.

Hatching eggs can also be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed in purpose made polystyrene boxes at the postage cost of £6 per half dozen.
