ORPINGTON
Origin: Originally developed by William Cook of Orpington in Kent in the 1880s, there are now 7 varieties of Orpington; Black, White, Buff, Jubilee, Spangled, Cuckoo and Blue.Characteristics: They are active but docile birds and make excellent mothers. They are steady layers of around 190-200 eggs per year.

Hatching eggs can also be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed in purpose made polystyrene boxes at the postage cost of £6 per half dozen.
