RHODE ISLAND RED

Origin: Developed on the farms of the American province of Rhode Island, these birds originated from Asiatic black-red fowls of Shanghai, Malay and Java types. Bred for their laying qualities they are largely responsible for our modern hybrid egg layers.

Characteristics: Alert, active and well balanced and good layers.

Hatching eggs can also be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery, packed in purpose made polystyrene boxes at the postage cost of £6 per half dozen.
